Home School Agreement
Parents are very important at Headfield C E (C) Junior School. We encourage a close partnership between home and school. Children do well at school when they feel that their parent(s) are interested in what they do at school. Significant progress can be made when children are encouraged and praised for hard work and good behaviour.
Arrangements for parents wishing to visit the school
If you wish to visit the school or talk with a teacher it is best to ring, if you can, and make an appointment so that the member of staff can be free to talk to you.
Parents interested in registering their child are welcome to make an appointment to see the Headteacher and view the school.
Parents of children who are due to start Year 3 will be invited to a meeting in the summer term prior to September admission.
Helping in School
Some parents who have time offer to help in some way in school during the school day.
This might involve:
- hearing children read
- working with a small group
- helping children on the computer.
Parental Consultation
We have Parents’ Evenings in the autumn term and spring term. These are opportunities for you to discuss you child's progress and achievement across the curriculum with their teacher, discover ways to help your children at home and ask any questions you may have. Do remember though that we are always happy to meet with you at other times so please speak to your child's teacher before or after school or alternatively call the school office to arrange a time.
In School Courses for Parents
We offer courses and workshops for parents, which are held in school. These courses are organised/arranged by school staff.
You will be sent regular information letters telling you about which courses are running and each term.
